16th - JAZZ AT RICK'S CAFE AMERICAINWhenMon, 10pm - 11pm Our 2009 Fundraiser moves from a 1932 Chicago Speakeasy ("Eliot's Nest") to 1940 French Morocco. (Rick's Cafe Americain). The annual event will play off the famous 1942 movie " Casablanca" in which Humphrey Bogart plays the cynical American expatriate who owns and runs the upscale Rick's Cafe and gambling den. The costumed affair (optional) will feature a mixed crowd of refugees, thieves, German occupiers, and Vichy French officials; and lots of period music.
